Transfer News: Stones is still a potentian target for Chelsea

Chelsea are set to back under fire boss Jose
Mourinho in the January window by sanctioning a
£36m move for Everton defender John Stones,
according to the Daily Express .

The Portuguese is struggling to lead any sort of
defence of the Premier League title won only five
months ago, with his side sitting in 16 th position.
Despite their struggling form, ex-Real Madrid and
Inter boss Mourinho is reported to have received
backing from owner Roman Abramovich, as they
look to shore up a backline that has already
conceded 17 goals.
The Blues have lost to Manchester City, Crystal
Palace, Everton and Southampton domestically, as
well as FC Porto in the Champions League.
Now, they are reported to be plotting a return for
England defender Stones, who was a mega money
target over the summer.
The 21-year old was the subject of four bids during
the close season, and handed in a transfer request
at Goodison Park in an effort to force through a
move.
That was rejected by Toffees boss Roberto Martinez,
and the former Barnsley man ultimately stayed on
Merseyside.
